Now that the 2024 Olympics have wrapped up, one thing is certain — Paris delivered a Jeux olympiques unlike any other! Hey, if you’ve ever spent an extended amount of time here… are you really surprised?!
From the jaw-dropping (and at times, chaotic-in-the-best-way-ever) opening ceremony on the Seine to record-breaking performances across the city, these JO were full of moments that had everyone talking.
Hosting events in iconic places like the Eiffel Tower, Place de la Concorde, and even Versailles gave the Olympics a distinctly Parisian feel. In true French fashion, some ideas were bold, some were controversial, but in the end, they made 2024 an unforgettable year.
Athletes gave us incredible highs and heartbreaking lows, and the energy in the streets — whether from locals, tourists, or the athletes themselves — was electric. As some of the few Parisians who actually stuck around to see what all of the hype was about we can confirm: we had never experienced anything like it in Paris before.
